Places To Visit

It's always struck me that links pages are very self centred, selfish and heinous places to visit. However, being a male of the species, I love list making as much as the next oaf and therefore am including a page of self centred, selfish and heinous links to peddle my interests and views.

It's doubly worse because it is such a one sided conversation. I tell you what I like but listen not a jot. Perhaps you could tell me what lathers you and make me a little less selfish.

Let's start with the obvious. Pages I can't survive on-line without. Short list as there's only one. Google. Fantastic.

Perhaps some music. Doesn't get much better than these chaps - Radiohead, The Smiths and The Wonder Stuff.

Something more intellectual for sir? Try abstaining from Microsoft by using Open Office. Just as good anything Microsoft have done but free. On that subject www.apache.org, www.mozilla.org (Mozilla Firefox in particular) and www.php.net all offer open source alternatives to products produced by the great behemoth. Or maybe extend your mind at Wikipedia or your vocabulary with the Babel Fish.

Better not miss off the home site of the greatest British company around at the moment - The BBC. If that's running a bit slow then Ananova is a good place to catch up with the world.

That'll do for now. I feel selfish but fulfilled. Like eating menthol chewing gum in the confession box; so self indulgent and there's just a chance I'll leave a whiff of myself behind.
