First weigh in saw our dieters full of beans (not the baked variety) and happy
to divulge their weights confident in the knowledge that they will all soon
be skinny and able to look back on this and laugh. Only time will tell.
That gives us a collective weight of 620 pounds - about the same as a family
of gorillas (dad 400 lbs, mum 200 lbs and baby 20 lbs).

One week in and Fred is already struggling, struck down by a mystery
illness (and a week of scoffing in bed) he could not make the weigh-in.
Trev and Eddie however were out of the blocks in impressive style with a
combined loss of 11 pounds. That's the same as the shipping weight of this
rather natty $43.00 inflatable sofa.

Our vanishing trio were reunited again this week and all made further inroads into
their body size. Trev and Eddie both continued their impressive form by
shedding 3lbs apiece - about the same as 70 bags of Wotsits each.
Fred recovered from his illness with a loss of 2lbs - about the same as a slightly
smaller pile of Wotsits. Watch this space though as he's predicting a big loss
for next week!

Well, so much for Fred's prediction; he did well to break even.
Trev and Eddie continued in the right direction however though even
they with 2lbs and 1lb respectively are now finding the spare pounds
hard to come by. 3lbs between them is the equivalent of 9 large bananas -
still an impressive loss when you think of it like that!

A fortnight break in the weigh-in and all three lads returned to
the scales with their diets in tact by losing 4lbs a piece. Trev
also has the distinction of being the first one to lose a stone -
nice going Trev!
That's 12lbs lost between them - about the same
as 4 adult human brains (from the male that is - women's tend to
be more streamlined).

It all got a bit touch and go there but after much soul searching
and climbing back on wagons our dieters return for another bout
with dear Uncle Podge. A holiday in Italy has held Freddie back
and a flirtation with his weaker side sees Trev gain a pound but
Eddie, our hero, continues his charge losing a massive 5lbs -
which makes 19lbs since his diet began. That's how much CO2 the
average American automobile produces from 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline.

We're back on track again now with weight losses for all our
participants this week. Trev leads the way with 5lbs closely
followed by Eddie with 4lbs. Freddie again brings up the rear
but he's still moving in the correct direction with a 1lb loss.
Collectively our dieters now weigh in at 572lbs - the same weight
the 1953 World Weightlifting Champion Doug Hepburn could bench
press. Click on Doug for an enlargement, this guy is cooool.

Another successful weigh-in for Trev and Eddie who managed to shed 5lbs between
them. The average weight of our dieters is now 183lbs. This is approximately the
same as the average Bighorn sheep from the deserts of Northern America. There are
also other similarities to our intrepid food warriors:
- A diet of mainly grasses, sedges and forbs.
- Known for the head-to-head combat between males.
- Horn size is a symbol of rank and male horns can weigh as much as 30 lbs!
- During the summer months they visit waterholes at least every 3 days.

As you can see things seem to have petered out but not without some success. We lost one on the way but, to prove this was no jest, to right of this page stand 2 shadows of their previous selves. Impressive stuff I'm sure you'll agree. Huzzah for Trev and Eddie!
